How to Assemble, Operate and Disassemble the Drive Titan LTE
The Titan LTE is a product that is designed to provide a more comfortable and secure vehicle for those in need of mobility. In a few easy steps that we will discuss below, you should be able to assemble, operate, and disassemble the Titan LTE in no time.
How to Assemble the Titan LTE?
The Titan LTE would have several parts which would be important to understand and gain familiarity on.
Step 1: Start by locating the power base of the wheelchair and unscrew the knobs by hand. Once loosened, lift the covering and connect the battery to the main cable. The battery connectors have a red and black indicator that should match the color from the harness. Once finished, re-attach the cover securely and tighten the knobs.
Step 2: To attach the seat on the mount, squeeze the lever found underneath and place the seat on top of the post. Release the lever handle so that the seat locks in place. Try to rock on the seat to ensure that it is securely attached and does not sway. (see figure 1)
Step 3: Slide the armrests to the attachment points in the seat frame. Make sure that it is attached facing the right way. Adjust them to the correct width and place the knobs from underneath the seat to secure the armrests.
Step 4: Insert the controller to the post underneath the armrest and insert the knob to lock it in place. (see figure 2)
Step 5: Connect the cable to the power base and that’s it. Just make sure the battery is charged and you can begin using the Titan LTE. (see figure 3)
How to Operate the Titan LTE?
Keep in mind a few guidelines when operating the Titan LTE. This helps ensure that the occupant is kept safe while on the unit:
- Charge the battery if the indicators drop
- Make sure that the power is turned-off when mounting and dismounting from the device
- Do not disengage the freewheel if on an incline
- Avoid taking the wheelchair under heavy conditions like rain, snow, etc.
- Do not drive the wheelchair at night without ample lighting
- Do not attempt to add, break apart or modify the wheelchair’s features as it could have a significant impact on the performance
To be able to power your vehicle, you would need to rely on the controller's key functions. Start by using the power button to turn it on/off.
Check the speed setting and steer the joystick to maneuver around. Push it forwards, backwards, and side to side to get a feel of its drivability.
To stop the unit, simply allow the joystick to return to the center position and the brakes will slow it down. When you have more familiarity with the vehicle, you can increase the speed to your liking.
For added comfort, the Titan LTE could be adjusted in terms of:
Armrests’ height, width, and angle
When it comes to adjusting the height and width, this is controlled by the knobs located on the side or underside of the seat. Simply, loosen them and adjust the positioning. Once you are happy with the position, you can lock them again in place.
On the armrest angle, there is another knob located below the armrest. You can tighten or loosen them which should raise or lower the angle.
Footplate height, depth, and angle
For all the adjustments on the footplate, there are three sets of nuts and bolts that would either adjust the height, depth, or angle. These can be found on the frame of the footplate.
The joystick position can be adjusted to move forward or backward, depending on the user’s preference. Again, this is controlled by a knob found below the armrest frame and it can that can be loosened to move and tightened to secure.
How to Disassemble the Titan LTE?
If you would like to store your Titan LTE, you can start with the following:
Step 1: Make sure that your controller is turned off. Following this, disconnect the cable from the power base of the wheelchair.
Step 2: Loosen the knobs that hold the controller under the armrests and remove it from the mount.
Step 3: The same thing can be done with the armrests. Simply, loosen the knobs located below the seats to free up the armrests and slide them out.
Step 4: Onto the seat, locate the release handle, and squeeze them so that you can unlock the seat. You should be able to lift the seat with ease.
Step 5: You can leave the battery power connectors under the power base so that you can lessen the hassle of re-assembling if you plan to use the wheelchair regularly. However, if you plan to store it away for a long time, then we would recommend unscrewing the knobs on the powerbase and disconnect the battery harness to the main cable.
