Looking for an upgrade from a manual to a power wheelchair? You’ve certainly come to the right place!

The Cirrus Plus Power Wheelchair by Drive Medical is an under $1,500 power wheelchair that is as robust and durable as it is highly maneuverable. With its motorized operation and convenient foldable design, it is very easy to store when not in use. You can also carry it around easily in your car, once you have removed the batteries from underneath the seat. The non-motorized parts can also fold away very easily for added convenience.

It pays to understand why so many people with disabilities and senior citizens alike are opting for a reliable and well-built powered wheelchair over a conventional one.

The Cirrus's electric power option makes it the number one choice for a ‘smoother’ ride

While this might seem obvious, this is considered by many users to be one of the best benefits of having a powered wheelchair. The Cirrus Plus features two 24V motors capable of 4,600 rpm that power the rear wheels, helping it reach speeds of up to 5 mph. Which means that users can easily move it over smooth or rough terrain with minimal effort.

Virtually no upper body strength is required to move a motorized wheelchair. The Cirrus Plus is also perfect for those who have limited range of motion in their arms or hands. The joystick is ergonomically comfortable and requires minimal input in order to the wheelchair around. No matter what direction you need to move in, simply tap the joystick gently and your powered wheelchair will instantly but smoothly respond.

No longer do you have to worry about the inconvenience or fatigue that comes due to using a manual wheelchair.

And whether you prefer to steer with your right or left hand, Drive Medical’s electric wheelchair has a programmable joystick which can be mounted on either side for maximum ease of use.

Very easy to drive and maneuver

The Cirrus Plus is very easy to maneuver, thanks to its 4-inch ground clearance, rear-wheel driven power and ultra-responsive electromagnetic braking.

When pitted directly against a manual wheelchair, you’ll find that a powered one offers superior handling and meneuverability. Since the latter can move freely in all directions simply through a joystick, you can have far better turning radius and direct your wheelchair better through small and tight areas.

With the Cirrus Plus, you get a turning radius of 30-35” which is more than enough to drive it easily through restricted areas. Be it indoors or outdoors, you no longer need anyone’s assistance to help navigate around obstacles, thanks to the freedom of movement offered by a powered wheelchair such as the Cirrus Plus.

Furthermore, rough terrain can be tough to negotiate with a conventional wheelchair. Where there’s uneven terrain or inclined surfaces, the Cirrus Plus is well capable of going over them with ease and without any hassle whatsoever.

Not only can it travel easily over 6 degrees of incline but the battery charge lets you travel distances of up to 18 miles, in case you want to spend your day exploring outdoors while enjoying the beautiful weather. The 12” rear drive wheels are capable of keeping you comfortable no matter how uneven the terrain may be.

In fact, the Cirrus Plus powered wheelchair has been designed with rough terrain in mind even though it does not have a suspension, and does not require one as such. The big tires, comfortable seating position and arm rests, as well as the electric motor are more than sufficient to help you move over all kinds of terrain.

If ever going on a trek in hilly areas with lots of inclined surfaces might have prevented you from venturing out with your loved ones, the Cirrus Plus is all you need as it will more than live up to the task.

Comfortable Seating and Height Adjustment

Undeniably, one of the biggest advantages to owning a powered wheelchair is that it comes with an adjustable backrest and arm rests.

The 2” foam seat cushion in the Cirrus Plus sits atop an attractive carbon steel frame design that features an elegant silver vein finish. With adjustable upholstery on the padded backrest and height-adjustable armrests as well as swing-away footrests that feature heel loops and a calf strap – you can adjust it to your heart’s content until a desirable position can be had.

The standard seat width comes in 16” or 18”, although you can order a 20” wide seat for your Cirrus Plus electric wheelchair at an additional charge.

Take in the view or enjoy trekking with your loved ones. Enjoy the freedom of movement and also not having to ask for any assistance just to find a comfortable position on your wheelchair.

Outstanding Support all in all

An electric wheelchair offers much better back and seating support in contrast with manual wheelchairs. Not only is there less effort required to control the chair but the ergonomic design allows you to have much better support for your back, shoulders, hips, arms, hands and legs.

The Cirrus Plus weighs just 146 lbs but can support a bodyweight of up to 300 lbs. The “rehab” style seat will keep you more than comfortable throughout the duration of your journey.
